Trustworthiness is being measured and ranked how? There needs to be a whole lot more transparency around this if and when it happens. Is it based on surveys of random users? Clicks? Links? Algorithmic mumbo-jumbo? Some combination of all the above?

That, @mathewi, is why public editors must come from the public. People inside the wagon circle won't say what must be said about the obvious hypocrisy and self-serving of journalism. They probably can't even see it. To people whose support journalism needs, it's obvious.
Conclusion over the last few days, esp with the @nyt piece about how much Google is making off their hard work, and the lack of any response, is they just don't fucking care what you and I think.
