In a sort of twisted way, using Bitcoin is almost like you're doubling down on legitimacy. "I spend this in my own name knowing I can account for how I obtained it and what I've done with it in the meantime."
Bitcoins aren't anonymous of course, they're pseudonymous.
"Even though Bitcoins are technically anonymous, if they ever pull that money out in their name... law enforcement has a direct connection to a real identity. "That's why Weaver says bitcoins are essentially 'prosecution futures.'" https://money.cnn.com/2014/02/19/technology/security/bitcoin-black-market/index.html
This is a garbage argument. Anyone who knows how Bitcoin works agrees it is a really dumb way to go about committing crime. It's an optional exit from the financial system. It is very useful in that function. Long may it live. https://twitter.com/williampietri/status/1163843887812579333
There is no organized effort to do anything, it's just that people who have been around for awhile get a really good laugh when we read overwrought garbage like this tweet https://twitter.com/RyanSAdams/status/1162903122836111361

"But decentralization!" But misrepresentation.

Financial practice dictates a peg is a governing bodies ability to honor a quoted exchange rate. So far only dai has screwed this up by using only its own market for redemption. Do you see others screwing this up now or in the near future ?

The only winners are lawyers. And nocoiners, who have better things to do with their money.

Preston, Monolith is a pre-loaded cash card, not a true debit card. The card doesn't draw on the contract wallet, and you can't load tokens directly on to it. The tokens are exchanged for fiat and the fiat loaded on to the card. Visa is taking no risk whatsoever.

This is what what Monolith's own website says.
